Golf’s finest honoured at NSW Industry awards

Golf’s finest Players, administrators, clubs and volunteers have been honoured tonight at the inaugural NSW Golf Industry Awards at Curzon Hall.

Windred, Choi named Golf NSW Players of the Year

Newcastle’s Blake Windred and Concord’s Doey Choi are the Male and Female Golf NSW Athletes of the Year. 

Windred, currently in Western Australia preparing for the Western Australian Open, thanked his co-nominees and the work of the Golf NSW High Performance Program team, his coaches, and his family.

Choi thanked her coach Dean Kinney, and her fellow nominees Kelsey Bennett and Sophie Yip.

Bathurst, Stonecutters Ridge named Clubs of the Year

Bathurst Golf Club is the Golf NSW Country Club of the Year while Stonecutters Ridge has picked up the Metropolitan award.

Bathurst CEO Brad Constable paid tribute to his team and Board of Directors saying a good job is done becasue of the great people behind the scenes. 

Stonecutters Ridge CEO Craig Scott was thrilled to receive the award for western Sydney Club that has strived to be as inclusive as possible since its opening, 

Nagy, Martin pick up Manager’s Awards

Nora Nagy of The Coast and Grant Martin, CEO of Twin Creeks have picked up the CMA Awards for 2018.

Roseville Golf Club honoured with the JNJG Junior Program of the Year 

Jack Newton Junior Golf CEO Mr Peter Van Wegen has presented Mr Paul Carey, Captain of Roseville Golf Club, with the award for Junior Program of the Year. 

Roseville Golf Club has an outstanding program that includes Juniors on the Move and representation in all forms of Junior Pennant.

Other awards presented include the AGCSA NSW Division awards, including Outstanding Achievement to David Stoner of Bayview, Outstanding Performance and Dedication to Cameron Butt of Moore Park, Graduate of the Year to Jordan Phillips, and Superintendent of the Year to Peter Donkers of Long Reef Golf Club.

Some outstanding performances by trainees and students have also been recognised by AGCSA. Jordan Phillips of Newcastle GC and Sam Rose of Atlas Turf were recognised for their work ethic.

Avondale Golf Club’s James Beileiter was awarded the Certificate V TAFE Scholarship for outstanding achievement in his studies.

It’s a beautiful night and the NSW Golf Industry Awards are underway at Curzon Hall, Marsfield. Almost 400 guests have gathered to honour the game’s finest clubs, players, facilities and volunteeers.
